Nominal pot size is not a fit specification
For growers, nurseries and greenhouse programs, the decorative planter has to work with the actual production pot. A nominal diameter alone does not describe the rim, taper or usable depth.
- 01 / Outside rim diameter
- Measure the widest part of the nursery-pot rim, including any lip that must pass through the cachepot opening.
- 02 / Maximum body diameter
- Record the widest body dimension below the rim and any shape feature that could restrict insertion.
- 03 / Grower pot height
- Measure the full height and agree whether the rim should sit above, level with or below the decorative planter.
- 04 / Cachepot interior
- Specify the inside opening, usable internal depth and base space. Allow clearance for normal manufacturing variation.
Approve the pairing with a physical sample
Send the actual nursery pot or a complete measurement brief. Test insertion, stability, removal and the appearance of the paired plant. The buyer approves the final plant-and-planter combination before the recurring program is confirmed.
Discuss drainage, saucers or a decorative cachepot arrangement separately. Water management and protection of retail or household surfaces should match the intended use.
Plan handling and repeat orders together
Define quantities by size, repeat-order expectations, destination, labels and barcode requirements. Individual protection, pallet configuration and unloading restrictions belong in the program brief. Each repeat order still needs production and approval planning; a previous sample does not establish ongoing stock availability.
